Team Leader and Supervisor

Overview

The team leader and supervisor was approved for delivery on 01/06/2016. This Advanced apprenticeship standard awards you with a level 3, qualification when completed. The usual duration of this apprenticeship is 12 months, but this does not include the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship is a first line management role which will include responsibilities of delivering a clearly defined outcome. You may be responsible for a team, providing instructions, direction and guidance to achieve set goals.

This apprenticeship can be based in the public, private or third sector, within small, medium or large businesses. As a result of this, duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the organisation you work within, but the basic knowledge, behaviours and skills will remain the same.

You will be responsible for supporting, developing and managing team members, planning and organising workloads and resources, managing projects and forming relationships internally and externally.

On this team leader apprenticeship you will learn to understand all the different types of leadership styles and the benefits they can bring, techniques for good team management, different forms of communication and the best approaches for building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

After you have completed your apprenticeship you have the opportunity to register as an Associate Member of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
