Overview
This Intermediate trade supplier apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 2, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 10/04/2018 and typically takes 12 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.
What the course covers
This apprenticeship can be based in a variety of sectors including, plumbing, electrical, joinery and general building supplies. Usually a Trade Supplier will operate a trade counter and small warehouse where professional trade customers come to purchase products.
This role will involve interacting with customers both at the trade counter, over email and over the phone. You will need to monitor and understand incoming deliveries, necessary stock control, processing customer orders and product despatch.
It is essential that you gain an understanding of the technical knowledge surrounding the products and services on sale, to allow you to meet customer needs. Alongside this you will be required to assist customers looking at the product ranges, helping them to find the most suitable products or services for them in relation to their trade and requirements.
You will contribute to providing a high-quality service that will encourage repeat purchases, through effectively communicating with colleagues, internal and external customers. Alongside complying with legal requirements applicable inside the warehouse and the trade counter, adhering to health and safety regulations to minimise risks and maintain a high level of security at all times.
