Overview

Approved for delivery on the 23/03/2016, the unified communications trouble shooter, Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 4, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 24 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship role is responsible for providing internal and external with specialist advice relating to the set-up of unified communications systems or in response to any problems that arise.

The service you provide can be face-to-face, online or over the phone. You will be required to install software and equipment in response to incidents and help requests, including diagnosing faults across a variety of unified communications technologies in line with any business level service agreements.

The software and equipment you will install and configure may relate to Data solutions such as access points and switches, alongside troubleshooting Network Service solutions such as internet speed problems and line faults.

You will learn how to maintain servers including the likes of storage, group policy, print services and updates, alongside sustaining security principles that cover software encryption, access and auditing. As well as maintaining a domain service, assigning services, applying updates and deploying software, configuring and troubleshooting voice solutions.

This role will require you to work as part of a team and independently taking responsibility for your work and using your own initiative.
