What is an Animal Care Apprenticeship?
You will be working directly with a veterinary practice, dog or cat rehoming centre or animal welfare charity. You will provide care based on the particular needs of the animal that you have assigned to you and will learn the characteristics of their breed and the best ways to provide care to them.

What does an Animal Care Apprenticeship Involve?
As with all UK apprenticeship standards, the animal care apprenticeship requires that you spend 80% of your apprenticeship in the job role in what is called on-the-job-training. The remaining 20% is spent learning the theoretical information that you need to know and this is called off-the-job training.
