Overview

Approved for delivery on the 11/10/2018, the beauty therapist, Intermediate apprenticeship standard provides a level 2, non-degree qualification upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 15 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

Beauty therapy is one of the fastest growing industries within the Hair and Beauty sector, and treatments can be provided in a range of environments, from a small independent high-street shop to a high-end luxury boutique, to cruise ships and holiday spas.

As a Beauty Therapy apprentice, you will work both independently and part of wider beauty team, and learn how to carry out a variety of treatments and therapies whilst adhering to industry and legal standards, including observing client confidentiality when completing and recording consultations.

You will use a range of techniques, products and equipment in your work, to provide services such as waxing (e.g. legs, underarms and bikini line), hand, nail and foot treatments such as pedicures and manicures, and basic massage treatments for the back, neck and shoulder. You will also provide individual recommendations on selecting the appropriate treatments to prospective clients and customers.

Apprentices are required to always maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate a commitment to quality, honesty and integrity with their customers, and portray a positive image when faced with issues or client feedback.
