Junior Management Consultant

Providing business advice and consultancy across a range of industries.

Overview

This Higher junior management consultant apprenticeship standard will provide you with a level 4, qualification. This apprenticeship standard was approved on the 06/04/2016 and typically takes 24 months to complete. However, it is important to note that the duration of the apprenticeship standard stated does not include the End-Point Assessment period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship introduces you to the industry of management consultancy. Business management consultants offer advice to public and private sector organisations, either in a specialised area of that business or across a whole range on internal and external procedures.

Consultancy is usually centred around solving a challenge or inefficient part of a system, such as how to expand a business, how to reach more customers, or how to structure a company for significant and productive progress. Suppose a consultant has been hired to focus on a specific element of the business model. In that case, they may work solely on business proposals or how to diversify the workforce.

The parameters of the job are dependent on your clients and whether you are working on more than one project at once. You may work on the client’s site rather than in your office, and your hours may vary from project to project.

The role of a junior consultant varies with each employer. You may be involved in conducting and analysing research, to produce an accurate picture of a particular business function, such as customer engagement. Or you may be involved in the organisation of a project’s logistics. Further on in your apprenticeship, you may write reports on your findings, using statistical evidence to support your proposed strategy.
