Overview

Approved for delivery on the 08/08/2018, the learning and development consultant and business partner, Higher apprenticeship standard provides a level 5, upon completion. This apprenticeship will typically take 18 months to complete, not including the End-Point Assessment Period.

What the course covers

This apprenticeship is a high-level consultancy role which trains apprentices to align the learning needs of a business with their strategic objectives. L&D consultants or business partners are responsible for ensuring that professional learning and development within a company makes an effective contribution to performance, at both an individual and team level. This course covers how consultants can make meaningful change by making decisions and recommendations on what the business can do concerning learning and development. As an L&D consultant apprentice, you will advise a business on their potential possible via learning and development and lead any of the professional development elements of projects.

Apprentices will understand a link between the consultancy they offer, and the context and strategy of the business. You will use data analysis to measure outcomes and recognise the impact of any learning interventions proposed.

All Learning and Development consultants will have a good range of knowledge in all areas of learning and development and will focus that knowledge through the viewpoints of business and the future. Some L&D consultants may work in a general role, supported by L&D administrators and practitioners. In contrast, others will work in a specialist area of a business such as digital/blended learning, organisational development or talent management.
