What the course covers

A Recruitment Resourcer’s primary role is to search, identify and assess the best candidates to shortlist for clients. They will work with several colleagues, often in a large team, and for a specialist recruitment company.

The recruitment apprentice’s usual tasks involve researching how and where to find the most appropriate candidates for the company. This will help them build a wide array of contacts and networks for accessing future candidates. In this process of networking, they will identify new business opportunities, which they can link and refer to the recruitment company. To achieve these tasks, they must follow the relevant legislation and ethical guidelines.

Success in this role will require several core skills or behaviours. Primarily, the job requires good communication with contacts. Furthermore, being convincing and tenacious will acquire numerous beneficial opportunities for the business. The apprentice must remain organised to scour the hundreds of thousands of potential candidates to find the best ones in a time-conscious and efficient manner. This process will bring several obstacles and dead-ends. As such, the apprentices that excel in this occupation will be the ones that remain motivated and creative when faced with failure.
