Recruitment Apprenticeships

Have you ever wondered how specialist recruitment agencies go about finding the ideal staff to fill a role? This is what you will be learning if you decide to take on the recruitment apprenticeship. You will learn how to appraise the individual merits of job candidates and to select the one who will be the correct match for the position offered.

What Are Recruitment Apprenticeships?

You will be working at a recruitment agency and will be learning the ropes of how to attract new talented people into your pool of candidates. You will learn how to match their skills against the skills of companies who are hiring and are relying on your agency to match them with the correct person. The agencies tend to get paid a premium in order to ensure that the right candidates are selected.

The Benefits of Recruitment Apprenticeships

You will become good very quickly at appraising the skills that people have and how they may fit with the needs of your clients. There is an element of problem solving inherent in this and if you are good at puzzles, it can be like finding the right piece to fit the employment jigsaw.

You will hone and sharpen your interpersonal skills as you will be dealing directly with both job seekers and employers. You will be dealing with senior management at many companies and you have the chance to make good contacts and to shine in your current role. This will stand you in good stead whether you continue in the recruitment sector after successfully completing your apprenticeship or match your skills to another area of work.

What Does a Recruitment Apprenticeship Involve?

As is mandatory under the apprenticeship standard system in the UK, your apprenticeship will be 80% work-based and 20% off the job learning. This means that you will be working with a training provider on coursework. You will be getting paid for 100% of the time that you are on the apprenticeship whether you are taking part in the work-based section or off the job learning.

There are two different apprenticeship standards for recruitment which have slightly different educational attainment levels attached to them. The first is a level 2 recruitment resourcer and the second is a level 3 recruitment consultant. Depending on the level of education that you have completed to date, you can check which is more suited to you.

Are You Suited for a Recruitment Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship in recruitment will mean talking to a lot of people and dealing directly with members of the public so if you are already someone who enjoys engaging with people, that will help you get started.

A recruitment apprenticeship can be very rewarding as you are helping people find jobs that are suited to their skills and it can be a good feeling to see people begin to achieve their potential.
